Job description Milk Street, a Boston-based food media company, is looking for an eCommerce Culinary Associate to join its growing eCommerce Merchandising team.
This is a full-time Monday-through-Friday position. Milk Street’s office is located in Boston, MA. One to two days a week can be remote.
This role works closely with the eCommerce Culinary Manager and eCommerce Merchandising team to taste and test new product candidates for the rapidly growing Milk Street Store. The ideal candidate must be intellectually curious, goal and detail oriented, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This Culinary Associate will work closely with the merchandising, art, kitchen and editorial teams.
Responsibilities Include:
● Work with Ecommerce Culinary Manager to test equipment, utensils and pantry items for possible inclusion in the online store.
● Create detailed and comprehensive notes on all items tasted, tested and procured for the merchandising team.
● Research tested products and assist in providing detailed notes, usages and specifications on selected items for the editorial team.
● Organize pantry product tastings/testings with kitchen team.
● Keep products organized in storeroom from receiving, to approval to photoshoot and keep storeroom maintained.
Photoshoots and Media Needs:
● Assist Art/Visual Department with video shoots for social platform videos
● Execute product photo shoots including prepping, cooking, and styling recipes/products.
● Assist Art team and ECommerce Culinary Manager with food styling and other food needs for product photo shoots including providing “hands” and assistance in photo shoots where needed.
● MUST BE PRESENT AT ALL PHOTO AND VIDEO SHOOTS.
New Product Development:
● Conduct testing to assist in development of new products
● Research market trends and existing products to help identify needs for development
Qualifications:
● Culinary school degree (or current student) or equivalent experience working with food. Strong preference for food styling or photoshoot experience.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Experience using online document tools such as Google Docs/Drive.
● Strong organization skills.
