Fat Sheep Farm & Cabins offers tourists a unique lodging opportunity to explore central Vermont and New Hampshire, and is ideally situated to explore Woodstock, Quechee, and Hanover, NH. Fat Sheep Farm is a small-scale working farm that sells produce, eggs, and cheese to local restaurants and our cabin guests. Guests stay in a private cabin fully equipped with kitchen and bath, and enjoy incredible views of our growing field and the surrounding forested hillsides. The views, sunsets, sunrises and stars cannot be beat. Opened in June of 2017, it has been featured in the Boston Globe travel section, Yankee Magazine, Food and Wine, and soon, Travel & Leisure. We offer guests an opportunity to milk our sheep, take the animals to pasture, collect eggs from our chickens, and tour the fields where we grow most of our own food. We will offer sourdough bread workshops and cheese-making workshops when the pandemic conditions are alleviated. We use our firepit regularly throughout the summer to soak in the night sky and give our guests a chance to meet us and each other.
We're looking for someone to join our farm-stay cabin business. This is an opportunity to live on a beautiful Vermont farm in your own private studio apartment (housing can be included) while working somewhere between 25 and 40 hours per week--leaving you plenty of time to explore our beautiful area. The job is essentially managing the cabins--cleaning them between guests, keeping inventory in stock, ordering supplies, laundering linens, and making sure things are always in working order. We all get our hands dirty here and we are all important members of the team. People who work with us enjoy our high quality farm product as an additional perk and are rewarded with paid vacation after 9 months of satisfactory job performance, and a yearly bonus.
We are looking for someone who will care for our cabins and business the way we do -- with great attention to detail, high standards, and an ability to ensure that the guest experience remains at the highest level possible. There is an opportunity to learn and help with the farming side of the business but there is no obligation. But the primary and most important thing we are looking for is a great care-taker of our guest cabins.
