Job Overview

If you wake up every day and get excited at the idea of working in a test kitchen to develop incredible recipes, trying new food, sourcing responsibly and testing new ingredients, this internship is absolutely the right fit for you. As our intern, you will work closely with Yardy World’s team to develop skills and competencies to be successful within the food and beverage industry but also skills that pertain to any career path you may choose. You love to develop new skills and learn in a collaborative way, while also displaying confidence in working independently.

A successful candidate will gain valuable experience in any of the following areas: operations, marketing, administration, problem solving, planning and implementation of innovative projects, as well as communication skills. This internship involves hands-on experiences with culinary and content creation across our social media channels and web platform, which will provide opportunities for your personal success and development if you get excited about the ever-changing digital world. This position is paid, but not eligible for benefits such as medical, relocation, or housing. However, based on performance we would love to consider the potential candidate for a permanent position at Yardy World.

Who We Are

In 2017, DeVonn Francis launched Yardy World, a queer-Jamaican owned creative studio redefining food and culture through events and special projects. What began as a project to amplify and create space for more Black and Caribbean food, gradually morphed into a suite of products and services dedicated to creating better pathways to equity in the food and beverage industry. Yardy World is mostly known for producing events: from fashion activations, to weddings, galas, art dinners and in-house events for our community to get together. Our passion and dedication to food and culture has led to a growing portfolio of clients that entrust us with finding creative solutions to their company needs. We are primarily hiring you to help us with our latest culinary project on our website and maintaining culinary content across our social channels.

Our number one goal is to provide valuable resources to our customers while amplifying BIPOC creators by featuring their products and services. Our company is a great fit for you if you enjoy the work that goes into developing a younger brand, are good at turning concepts into action plans, and take interest in food, art and culture.
