Ravenwood Farmshop is a hybrid space that integrates a farm stand, small cafe and design showcase located in Kerhonkson, NY. Our business is family-run in an intimate barn setting that serves as a gathering hub for the local community and for those who are visiting our region. Careful selections for the space, from the growers + makers we work with, to the sights/smells/sounds/tastes we offer our guests, are all in an effort to provide a relaxed, retreat-like environment in which to celebrate the distinct seasonality of the Hudson Valley. 

Job description Successful applicants for this position will enjoy learning more about our region’s offerings and will be excited to share that information with our customers. From details about the neighboring farms our produce comes from and how it is grown, to backgrounds of local artists whose work is on the walls, members of our team should share an interest in farming, food + design and have an inviting presence in the space. We are looking for self-motivated, creative individuals who are cheerful by nature. Ideally, applicants will have some hospitality/retail experience, but it is equally important to find team members that are confident, friendly and outgoing with a positive can-do attitude. Full training will be given.

Shifts Available: Sat 9-5 / Sun 8-6

Job Positions / Responsibilities:

Cafe / Farm Stand Assistant
(BOH kitchen experience helpful)

• prepping of cafe food and beverages, with a dedicated focus on quality
• all food is prepared off-site and this position requires attention to detail in baking off a variety of baked goods + pastries, assembling salads + small dishes, and preparing a wide range of beverages.
• familiarity in the kitchen and past culinary experience is preferred
• maintaining a clean and organized workspace
• set up and breakdown of farm stand display with local produce, fruit and flowers from neighboring farms
• restocking / replenishing / refreshing farm stand items
• stocking and cleaning self-serve coffee station
• help with setup / breakdown of outdoor seating space
  
• starting / maintaining communal bon fire
• greeting customers and making an effort to know regulars on an individual basis
  
• thorough knowledge of all items sold in the cafe, farm stand, floral bar and design showcase (from ingredients of cafe items, to names of farmers/purveyors, and showcased artists/designers)
• adhering to safety precautions that secure a healthy environment for guests
