Job description The High Mountain Institute is seeking a Kitchen Manager. This is a year-round position, .75 - full time, which includes responsibilities in the areas of: on-campus food service, menu planning, food ordering, budgeting, training adults and students, and kitchen curriculum development. 

Position Details:
  • Oversee food service and expedition rationing for all HMI programs
  • Cook meals and order food for 50+ students and employees
  • Plan creative menus including dietary restrictions with high level of detail
  • Train faculty, staff, and apprentices
  • Teach students to meal plan and cook
  • Intensive on then off schedule, including weekends and nights
  • Oversee health code compliance
    • Manage entire food budget
    • Manage and oversee food allergens
    • Oversee general nutrition
    • Provide varied and healthy meals
    • Health Insurance provided
    • Retirement benefits (TIAA-CREF) after 1 year
    • Starting pay $17 - $28 / hour DOE
    Start date: May 2022
Minimum Qualifications: 1-2 years of prior food service experience, experience supervising others in a food service setting, and experience cooking for large groups.
