Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Operations Lead at Just Date, you will be responsible for managing our operations and supply chain as we ramp up for significant growth over the next several years. The ideal person for this role will demonstrate strong leadership skills and a passion for physical and mental well-being. You will own fulfillment, procurement, contract manufacturing, quality control, demand planning, warehousing, and logistics, ensuring that our company’s operations are keeping up with our sales goals across Retail, Wholesale, and eCommerce. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will build a stable and scalable operational backbone, manage relationships with critical partners, and partner with the Founder and Chief Innovation Officer to execute new product launches. This is a growth opportunity, perfect for someone looking to work for a high impact food company and move into an executive position within 12-18 months.


WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • Manage and fully own the day-to-day supply chain responsibilities needed to support our Distributor/Retail, B2B/Wholesale, and eComm channels
  • Build and own COGS models for existing products as well as new products, report on inventory and future forecasting needs, place POs to support those needs
  • Own all aspects of manufacturing, driving key metrics around cost, order fulfillment, inventory control, and lead COGS savings initiatives
  • Build meaningful relationships with all partners in our supply chain through strategic and collaborative communication
  • Partner with co-packers to support production, post-production reporting, and forecasting for future runs
  • Work closely with co-packers to achieve superior levels of performance in quality, delivery, cost management and service
  • Partner with suppliers to set up contracts and place orders for upcoming production runs
  • Manage end-to-end transportation of all raw and finished goods, sourcing and negotiating all freight/warehousing contracts
  • Support new product innovation and execute new product launches, sourcing ingredients, packaging, and other inputs through the lens of sustainability
  • Manage order fulfillment and support sales initiatives

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You have 3-5+ years of experience in operations management, consulting, or private equity with food/CPG experience
  • You have the excitement, optimism, and hustle needed to build and scale a CPG company
  • You jump into action to troubleshoot a problem, you can make critical decisions independently
  • You have experience with Netsuite, Shopify, and EDI
  • You’re a strong collaborator skilled at building trusting relationships, getting buy-in, and advocating for your organization’s needs and priorities
  • You’re a strategic, confident communicator both aloud and in writing
  • You love spreadsheets, think financial modeling is kind of fun, and are constantly told you how organized you are
  • As a small team, we all wear a lot of hats, juggle multiple projects, and navigate complex situations, and you’re excited by that prospect!
