Bartavelle opened in 2012 as an all day seasonally driven cafe, eventually extending our offerings to include an evening wine bar alter ego, bar sardine, with natural wines, small plates, tinned fishes and a great atmosphere.
Since 2020, and for another few months, we are Bartavelle Cafe version 2.0, offering a simple fresh menu and Heart coffee, tea and beautiful house made pastries from 8am-2pm Wednesday through Sunday. By late this fall we will be opening our new all day cafe and wine bar just a couple of doors down from our current space! Job description We are currently seeking a cook with great energy and focus to join our crew, 4 to 5 days a week. Duties will include working the line on sometimes very busy days, workshopping and prepping seasonal dishes, making pickles, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and working with a tight crew to help keep our little operation clean, functional and running smoothly.
We are looking for someone who will have longevity at Bartavelle, and who is interested in working and growing with us through the transition and opening of our new, beautiful (and bigger!) space.

Starting pay: $18+/hr DOE, plus equal share of the tip pool (currently averaging $11/hr or more) after 3 stage/training shifts.
Health care stipend after 3 months check in.
Other perks include: staff discounts, sick pay, staff meals, snacks and coffee drinks!
Shifts begin as early as 7:15AM, Must be available to work weekends.

•At least one year of experience in a restaurant or cafe kitchen, high volume a plus
•A great track record of working well with others, with focus and positive energy
•Self-motivated, excited to participate and learn
•Collaborative and helpful, not afraid to work to anticipate the needs of others and proactively work to step in where needed, from help with prep to doing some dishes. We are all in this together!
•Work to keep a clean and organized station, even when busy
•Curious, focused and detail oriented
•Flexible and hardworking
