The Position

Churchtown Dairy operates a Farm Store & Welcome Center where visitors can purchase raw milk, cheese, meat, and herbal medicinal products as well as a variety of other goods from local makers and producers.  The Welcome Center also serves as a gathering place for visitors to access information about our farm and our agricultural practices.

You Will

Provide visitors with information about Churchtown Dairy, maintain a welcoming environment, process retail purchases, and ensure the smooth running of the farm store.

Farm Store & Welcome Center Manager

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store
• Establish and maintain an orderly and clean kitchen, store, and restrooms
• Greet visitors and offer hospitality and assistance in a warm and friendly manner
• Answer visitor questions about the farm - training will be provided
• Assist with logistical coordination of store-related events, with ability to host and propose programs as the position evolves
• Assist with packaging and restocking Churchtown products as needed
• Weekly inventory of meat and retrieval from off-site freezer
• Weigh, price and stock meat
• Restock staple groceries in staff kitchen
• Help maintain a safe working environment in accordance with sanitation and hygiene regulations and Churchtown Dairy protocols

Requirements

• Restaurant or retail experience preferred
• Full-time availability; 40 hour week
• Must have flexibility to cover weekend shifts as needed
• Valid driver’s license; occasional driving of company vehicle required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• ServSafe Food Handlers certificate a plus

Compensation

This is a full time position working Monday - Friday, 9:30am-5:30pm, 40 hours per week. Compensation for the position is based on experience, $19-21 per hour + PTO and a 25% discount on all goods in the Farm Store.  We offer comprehensive medical, dental, vision ( and more) coverage for individuals who commit to a full year with us.
