Community Food Access Organizer – Bennington

 

The Vermont Foodbank seeks a self-motivated, energetic Community Food Access Organizer – Bennington. This full time nonexempt position reports to the Director of Community Engagement. The primary components of this position include reaching out to and building relationships with Foodbank network partners, low- and moderate-income community members, partner organizations, affordable housing sites, town councils, the agricultural community and community leaders to better understand and co-create regional solutions around food insecurity. This outreach will provide direction for the Vermont Foodbank’s work related to community-driven food access, community engagement, and best practices in supporting partners within & around Bennington.  Attached is the job description with additional details regarding this particular position. The hope is that the individual would reside in or near the Bennington area.

 

The selected candidate will join an energetic, empowered, collaborative team that derives joy from the work and is wholly dedicated to VF’s mission. This position may offer some nights and weekends, with the ability to be able to travel if needed. The Vermont Foodbank’s work culture is progressive, forward thinking, and equity minded. This position is an hourly position with the pay anticipated to be at $25.00 an hour (Between $50,000 and $53,000 a year)
