POSITION SUMMARY

The Storeroom Stockkeeper is responsible for the expedient and accurate filling of supplemental orders, and correcting issue errors.  This position is responsible to assist students and instructors with any product or storeroom related procedural questions and, in the manager’s absence,  will be responsible for resolving customer complaints that may arise and to cover any duties required of the Assistant Storeroom Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ensure all daily and supplemental orders are filled accurately.
  • Verify quality standards are met on all products; handling any quality or fill problems that may arise with students or instructors.
  • Participate in the proper training of new hires.
  • Greeting and assist all customers in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner; modeling proper customer service for all other Storeroom clerks.
  • Provide supervision of issue or receiving areas and personnel in manager’s absence; or as the workload dictates.
  • Complete all assigned cleaning assignments to ensure the constant general safety and sanitation of the facility.
  • Assist in the proper staging of all kitchen orders for pick up.
  • Cover inventories and purchases as required in a Buyer’s absence. Assist in any routine or monthly inventories as required.
  • Obtain a thorough knowledge of all current chef-instructors and the venues in which they currently teach.
  • Provide opening Storeroom for business and staging AM kitchen orders for pick up as needed.
  • Other related assignments as necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience working in a Food Service environment/warehouse or related experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience using Eatec purchasing system and Oracle.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Ability to identify and thoroughly evaluate the proper quality of all perishable and international foodstuffs to CIA standards and determine in-house substitutions for products shorted and offer suggestions to chef instructors.
  • The ability to handle all departmental vehicles, and advise management if maintenance is required.
  • Ability to manage purchasing systems at an advanced level; including printing transfer detail and future needs reports, the examining purchase and transfer information for a specific ingredient or kitchen, and generate purchase orders and receiving documents.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate the proper quality of all perishable and international foodstuffs and to expertly identify and assess the quality of all fresh seafood received.
  • Knowledge of all products and product lines handled in all warehouses.
  • Demonstrated ability to show a high level of service responsiveness to customers.
  • Must have a proven, consistent track record showing the ability to work with all levels within an organization.
  • Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation.
  • Strong computer experience, which must include abilities to work effectively MS Office suite products, i.e. Word and Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • Must be able to work in very active warehouse environment, walk-in coolers and freezers as necessary.
  • Must be able to work overtime on nights and weekends as required by business needs.
  • Ability to handle a physically demanding job requiring a great deal of walking, bending and lifting weights up to 50 pounds or more. Greater weights than 50 pounds require two people to lift at all times.
