Daybreak Seaweed partners with regenerative ocean farmers to create West Coast sustainably-grown seaweed products and seasonings. Job description

As our Marketing and Community-Growth Manager, you will grow our consumer engagement and foster our online communities through social media presence, content creation, community engagement, influencer outreach, email newsletter, and more.

Working directly with the Co-Founders, you will be responsible for growing direct-to-consumer sales by further developing our marketing strategy, which includes organic social, paid social, email, influencer marketing, and press coverage. You will be a key member of the team, a growing voice of the brand, and will ensure that communication and visual identity across all platforms are seamless and beautiful. 

This position will be a good fit if you love to create content and aren’t afraid to show your personality and sense of humor in your writing and work. A born storyteller with enthusiasm for great copy writing and visuals, you will coordinate communication across Instagram, blog posts, email newsletters, and our website. As an important member of a small team, you will be asked to wear many hats, take ownership of projects, and roll up your sleeves to jump right in! 

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualities:

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in areas of brand marketing, content creation, or email marketing
  • Knack for storytelling, strong communication skills, and ability to translate our branding/story into sparkling copy and visuals
  • Strong experience and comfort with social media channels
  • Great at connecting - with other small businesses, content creators on Instagram, our current partners, etc. - to grow Daybreak and introduce the brand to more people
  • Can-do spirit, thrives when challenged, not afraid to jump right in
  • An empathetic mind that values connection, culture, community, diversity and equity.
  • You share and care about our values as a business and as a team
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with Mailchimp, FB/IG, Google Suite, Canva / Adobe Suite
 

Great but not necessary:

  • You can create + design rocking visuals for Instagram, email, and marketing assets via Canva or Adobe Suite
  • Previous CPG experience
  • Photography skills
  • Enthusiasm for video, reels, TikTok, etc.
  • Southern California area preferred

Details: 

  • Hybrid work environment - 90% remote
  • 24 hours per week - M-Th 9am - 3pm Pacific Time
  • Report directly to Founder
  • Unpaid leave offered, up to 6 weeks

This is a 90% remote, part-time hourly non-exempt position. 24 hours per week. 40 hrs. paid sick leave per year.
