Company description Chef Hugh Acheson -- founder of the lauded 5&10 in Athens, GA, and Empire State South in Atlanta, GA; and judge on Top Chef: Seasons 9 - 13 -- is looking for full-time cooks to work with Executive Chef Daniel Porubiansky at Chef Acheson's Atlanta restaurant, Empire State South. Experience necessary.


Empire State South is located in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. We serve 4- and 6- course tasting menus that are built on classical technique, and use the finest local produce and regional goods the state of Georgia and the South has to offer. Our kitchen also supplements a robust bar program. Plus, we've got a bocce ball court! Service currently runs Monday through Saturday, from 3-10 PM. 

Job description As a line cook at Empire State South (ESS), you are part of the team that executes our 4- and 6-course tasting menu, as well as our Happy Hour and bar menu. You will work with the best prep crew in the city to supply multiple stations. You will work PM dinner service alongside even-tempered and supportive professionals. You will learn from an Executive Chef with decades of experience, and a palpable care for his people. You will help feed our delightful front of house staff and foster your own creativity by whipping up daily family meals that draw on our robust pantry and walk-in. And you will help maintain at the highest standards of cleanliness a large and equipment-filled kitchen.

ESS is a kitchen that stresses quality, efficiency, and care. We take great pride in what we do. We try to highlight the labor and product of local farmers. We strive to provide a balance live/work balance that keeps our staff healthy and happy, including healthcare coverage for employees working full-time.

The kitchen needs hands on the hotline and in pastry. We need killer cooks who are seeking a full schedule, hard-working folks who are willing to put in four or five days a week. Shifts run six days a week, Monday though Saturday, from 1-10 PM. Ideal applicants will have experience in fine dining and/or volume. Compensation this position is : hourly, $15-20/hr Application instructions
