Job description

We are hiring full-time experienced chefs with an enthusiasm for the culinary arts, a passion for hospitality and willingness to learn and take direction from management.

Nûrish is the perfect café to expand your cooking skills with a creative and collaborative team. This position is for you if you are reliable, punctual, friendly, creative, and innovative.

Responsibilities:

  • Use your creativity to develop and improve menu items
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the kitchen, food production and kitchen staff including line cooks
  • Food preparation-prepare food in an efficient and timely manner
  • Rotate and stock inventory
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Uphold food standards and quality of the Nûrish brand
  • Assistance with seasonal menu development
  • Other related assignments as necessary

Basic Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a chef
  • Experience with food prep, knife skills, and following recipes
  • Experience managing kitchen staff
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials
  • Ability to read and write English

New York or New Jersey Food Handlers card or ServSafe food handlers certification not required but a plus. Open flame experience a plus.
