Company description The Wildset is a full service, 34 room, boutique hotel situated in historic downtown St. Michaels. Ruse is the restaurant at The Wildset. Defined by elevated, yet inviting design, attentive service, sommelier selected beverages, and seasonal, contemporary cuisine, Ruse’s culinary program builds on the storied legacy of St. Michaels with a commitment to innovation, quality, and hospitality. Vegetable and seafood-centric dishes, along with a variety of oysters from the eastern shore and other American waterways, are complemented by unique low-intervention wines, local beers, and craft cocktails. Job description We are looking for a talented Assistant General Manager to help us run our dining room and lead a group of hospitality professionals. Our Assistant General Manager will work closely with our General Manager to ensure the delivery of a quality product, to meet or exceed financial goals, and to create and foster a happy and well-cared for team and guest. The ideal candidate is a born leader with a passion for food, beverage, and hospitality. We are a small, close-knit team where we foster a cooperative relationship between FOH and BOH. 
 
  • Responsible for consistently providing restaurant guests with friendly and professional service
  • Work with GM to oversee, train, hire, and evaluate FOH employees
  • Oversee the front of house floor staff, ensuring that they abide by the policies and procedures of the restaurant 
  • Create FOH schedules and manage all scheduling related issues
  • Communicate effectively with other managers to create smooth flow between kitchen, bar, and dining room
  • Capable of overseeing deliveries and staff
  • Help maintain inventory spreadsheets for FOH department 
  • Work with GM to train staff in health code and food-handling procedures
  • Interact with Department of Health and manage health code regulations
  • Responsible for all matters related to private dinning, including communication from start to finish with guests, managing private dining room staff, upkeep, inventory, and ordering of private dinning room equipment, and effective, proactive communication with kitchen before, during, and after events
