AKUA is a mission-driven food company working to replace the most unsustainable form of food agriculture (factory farming) with the most sustainable form of food agriculture (ocean farming). We have been recognized by Time Magazine, Fast Company, and Travel & Leisure as pioneers in the sustainable food industry for our work to create a new market of meat-alt products made from ocean-farmed kelp. Our vision is to create a platform of clean-label, meat-alternative products including Kelp Burgers, Kelp Nuggets, Kelp Sausages, Kelp Crab Cakes, Kelp Balls, and more that are sold online, in retail, and through food service and restaurants around the world. We are also a Public Benefit Corporation with a vision of becoming a B-Corp when bandwidth allows.

To date, we have built strong D2C sales channels and we are just now pushing into retail regionally with the support of a robust sales team. Our marketing department is supported by a CMO (also the CEO), a full-time Sales & Marketing Manager, a performance marketing agency, a Google ads consultant, a social media content consultant, a video content team, and a web development & design team. We have also worked with PR & influencer marketing agencies that can be hired as needed.

AKUA is a mission-driven food company creating delicious, nutritious, and sustainable plant-based products from ocean-farmed kelp. Our hero product, the Kelp Burger is sold in 200+ stores across the country. We are looking for brand ambassadors to help us expand and deepen our presence across New York, LA, San Francisco, and Miami. JOB DESCRIPTION

Brand Ambassadors (BAs) will be the face of AKUA’s brand in their local community! Including:

  • Checking our products in stores bi-weekly with the goal of increasing our retail sales by developing relationships with grocery store buyers on behalf of AKUA, improving placement on shelf, supporting with demos, & securing re-orders
  • BAs will submit photos and store reports (buyer interactions, product feedback and status of product presence in stores, e.g. stock on shelves, display locations, etc.)  to our team after every visit via Slack with the goal of visiting all major stores in their metro area bi-weekly
  • BAs will represent AKUA at all sampling events locally as well as trade shows nationally
  • BAs will be incentivized for increasing sales and securing partnerships with local brands and organizations to increase AKUA’s awareness in their local communities
 

REQUIRED:

  • Must be reliable, organized, punctual, & professional  
  • As well as outgoing, engaging, positive, & eco-minded
  • Physically able to be on your feet for 3 hours at a time 
  • Comfortable engaging with customers and buyers on behalf of the brand 
  • The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively 
  • Access to a personal smartphone for schedule updates, photo capturing, & more
