The Snoqualmie Valley Farmers Cooperative (SVFC) is a non-profit membership organization owned by 21 member farms located in the Snoqualmie Valley, about 21 miles from downtown Seattle. Our member farms are committed to protecting the land and never use synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. Our mission is to build a sustainable economic model for our local farming community; and to bring our customers the most fresh, nutritious and wholesome local produce (including eggs and fruit) available to the greater Seattle area.  Along with being a resource for our farmers to connect and collaborate with each other, our biggest focus is our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Program.  Our CSA program is 10 months long, covers all four seasons and is unique because we deliver directly to all of our customers and all 21 of our member farms contribute to our produce boxes to make the season run smoothly.

We are actively looking to expand our Packing & Delivery crew and have some opportunities available for those seeking a little extra work during the week, starting in May:

• Packing - Every Wednesday we get together to pack our CSA boxes!  This includes portioning out any veggies that might need it, building our boxes and packing them full of fresh veggies.
• Delivery - One or two days a week (depending on how big our season is) we have delivery routes that need folks to drive.  This includes navigating routes, dropping CSA boxes to customers and notifying customers of box arrival.

Location: Carnation, WA

Hours: 

• Packing - Wednesdays 8 to 10/12 depending on the season (summer and fall can be a bit busier!) 
• Delivery - Thursdays 8 to 2
  • Hours are approximate and may vary depending on actual sales, staffing changes and weather

Term:

• This is a PART TIME - TEMPORARY position.  Hours are available 10 months out of the year. No hours are currently available during March and April

Job requirements and skills: (Doing both packing and driving is not required)

• PACKING: 
  • Able to lift 50lbs and enjoys physical labor.
  • Has the ability to follow the system we have in place
  • Likes working on a small team
  • Willing to work outside in all kinds of weather (don’t worry, we have cover!)
  • Has the ability to follow specific instruction
• DELIVERY
  • A valid US driver's license 
  • Current proof of insurance - if using your own vehicle 
  • Drivers must be at least 21 years of age 
  • Able to lift 50lbs, and enjoys physical labor.
  • Has the ability to follow the system we have in place
  • Has a smart phone with access to maps and the internet and can send text messages
  • Is reliable and focused while working on their own

Compensation:

• Packing: $15 per hour
• Delivery: If you drive your own vehicle - $18 to 20/hour plus mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard rate (58.5 cents per mile currently).
