Located in south-central Pennsylvania, the Dickinson College Farm is an 80-acre educational production farm that raises grass-fed cattle, sheep and chickens and certified organic produce for campus and community consumption, in addition to serving as a resource for academic and agricultural training interests.  

The Dickinson College Farm seeks motivated applicants for a newly created full-time position that will oversee the daily food prep for the farm’s campus-based retail operation, Farm Works.

During the academic school year, the Kitchen Manager position will design and prepare daily soups, salads, and quick breads made with College Farm ingredients and that reflect our farm-to-table philosophy. The Kitchen Manager position will be based out of an on-campus kitchen and will supervise and mentor students on the ins and outs of menu development, food prep, kitchen safety, workplace efficiency, and food service. During the summer months, the Kitchen Manager will work on menu development and food preservation, in addition to playing a supportive role at the College Farm as needed.

The Kitchen Manager will also prepare "small batch" packaged foods like ferments, fresh salsa, salad dressing for sale at Farm Works. Additional position responsibilities include overseeing systems that ensure food safety and workplace efficiencies, as well as maintaining kitchen inventories and procuring supplies and ingredients as needed.

For the right person, this position affords the unique opportunity to showcase personal culinary skills, be creative, plus work with and inspire students. Previous kitchen experience is a plus.
