Production Manager Little Wild Things Farm

Company description Little Wild Things Farm is Washington D.C's original and largest indoor sustainable farm growing over 30 varieties of greens, lettuces and edible flowers and serving our community through our farm store, home deliveries, specialty retail markets and local restaurants. Job description The ideal candidate will own the entire farm planning process from inventory management of seeds and supplies, through planting, germinating and harvesting. You will strategize and plan with the operations and marketing team, oversee our team of farmers, and take ownership of the entire production process. We are a 7-day a week farm so your work hours must be flexible.

Responsibilities:
● Manage and evaluate entire production process from planning production and packing schedules to harvesting and planting to ensure all client orders are fulfilled to our quality standards
● Collect data on harvest yield, labor input, climate control, plant health, and other relevant metrics for improving efficiency and reducing costs in order to develop, improve and implement processes
● Tracking inventory and ordering for all production supplies including packaging, seeds, and soil as well as maintaining and managing the inventory for our produce via our ecommerce platform
● Contribute to marketing and budgeting
● Ensure quality and cleanliness metrics are maintained at all times to maintain a safe and sanitary production environment
● Maintain Certified Naturally Grown certification records and other certifications as necessary
● Coordinate with key internal and external production stakeholders to strategically grow the business
● Team Management, Training and Development: develop and execute new member and continuous training procedures for production team; develop and manage staff scheduling and daily tasking; serve as the first line of defense in troubleshooting production issues and resolve staff conflicts if they arise

Qualifications:
● Prior experience in Controlled Environment Agriculture (“CEA”) is essential
● Prior management experience to include training, staffing and personnel management is also required
● Strong organizational and managerial skills as well as sound computer skills such as creating and managing worksheets and planning schedules is critical
● Previous experience with microgreens is highly preferred Compensation this position is : salaried, 50k-75k Application instructions
