Ox Hollow farm is a diversified, family operated farm nestled at the gateway of Litchfield County. Established in 1996 by Mark Maynard with the mission of providing hormone and antibiotic free products to consumers, Mark has utilized his education and upbringing to produce all-natural, pasture raised Angus beef as well as high-grade pork and poultry. Mark’s 30+ years-experience raising beef has been entrenched in his belief in sustainability, conservation and obtaining maximum crop yields. Since Mark's marriage to Stephanie in 2015 Ox Hollow has moved to non-gmo and increased produce production by 110%. Since 2006 we have operated two seasonal farm stands and 8 farm markets with the goal of providing as much of our own produce as possible.  

Job description The opportunity presented by our farm is to learn new skills as well as increase proficiency with any farming practices.

We work closely with our Veterinary practice through science based medicine, education, and management ingenuity. Work with DVM, Large Animal Producers, Crop and Nutrition production, as well as equipment repair persons will be encountered. 
 

We are looking for a responsible, diligent, and driven individual to join our team. You will need to be able to thoroughly complete necessary tasks and/or assist for large animal care on farm, depending on the day.

The right person will be able to communicate professionally with customers, complete on farm tasks timely and by priority. We are willing to train the right person on certain tasks.

In this position, one must understand the importance and responsibility their job entails as we are dealing with animal life, customer satisfaction and ultimately agricultural producers' livelihoods. All of our employees are expected to give 110% to their tasks and work as a team to provide skilled and reliable services.
 

The tasks of our daily operation include feeding and cleaning up after our animals (150-200 cows, 30 pigs, 700 laying hens, 350 field broiler hens, and 60 lambs) as well as crop production, and vegetable production. There are varying positions available based on your interest.

We are looking for a dedicated, seasoned employee, or a motivated individual looking for experience with animal care, crop management, and vegetable production. We have 350 acres to diversify our crop and planting, and we can offer opportunities both managing the land as well as caring for livestock and farm market sales.

A well rounded employee would provide skills to independently feed and clean up after all stalled animals, bringing feed to animals on pasture (whether it be round bales, filling creep feeders for calves, or putting minerals out for mother cows). Spreading Manure on pasture and crop land, making general repairs to fencing, building structures, and landscaping around enclosures; working with Mark, Stephanie, staff and family to worm, AI, castrate and treat all cattle via chute system; plant and maintain garden, secure fencing and pest control, and monitor growth of vegetation via invasive plant control.

Harvest vegetables and transport to permanent farm markets; stand in for Mark or Stephanie at farm Markets if necessary. Drive truck and Possibly drive equipment at farm, unload square bales, wrap round bales, ect. Any other questions please call Mark or Stephanie
