Woodberry Kitchen is looking for a motivated professional to assist the Events Director during an exciting new chapter.
The renowned Baltimore restaurant is opening during fall 2022 for both regular dining in the Tavern and as a top-tier Events venue. As the events and marketing assistant, you will help coordinate and lead guest tours, tastings, and other details of pre-event planning and to execute seamless events. You will also be responsible for maintaining our Events Instagram page and other marketing materials, with direction and guidance from our Communications director.
In addition, the right person will be an ambassador for our approach to food and beverage. Woodberry Kitchen prioritizes environmental and community impact by sourcing the freshest seasonal produce from local farms, fish and shellfish from the Chesapeake Bay and regenerative meats, ensuring our cuisine celebrates and preserves the abundance of our region.

Responsibilities:
- Meet with guests who are interested in or are planning parties for tours and tastings and work with them on menu planning and solidifying other event details
- Attend events and work with general manager and event service leads to ensure guest needs are met, providing assistance with service tasks when necessary
- Assist event director with other administrative and follow-up tasks, including but not limited to inventories of supplies and guest thank you gifts
- Under guidance of communications director, maintain the Events Instagram page according to our visual and written style, including posting photos, writing captions, responding to messages and comments, and engaging with our online community
- Adhere to all policies as provided by HR regarding staff disciplinary action, onboarding, anti-discrimination, harassment, ethical behavior, and any other policy defined in the Foodshed Handbook or otherwise
Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills, including managing difficult guests
- 1+ years of hospitality experience, working service in a fine dining restaurant or banquets
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field preferred
- Excellent visual and written communication skills
- Knowledge of social media marketing tools and strategies, especially Instagram
- Ability to multitask, be flexible in an environment that changes often, and take initiative
- Ability to accept direction and feedback and work independently and as a team player
