The Kinderhook Knitting Mill is a creative & community-minded space in the heart of Kinderhook, NY that brings together food, art, and design in an 1870s textile mill. The ethos of The Mill is one of cooperation and collaboration with the shared goal of cultivating a thriving village center to support & nourish our neighbors throughout the Hudson Valley.
Our all-day cafe, Morningbird, offers a rotating selection of housemade breakfast pastries & casual Southeast Asian dishes for lunch, along with a retail section curated to support Asian-American & women-identified makers. Our cocktail lounge at The Aviary Kinderhook will operate exclusively for dinner three nights a week with thoughtful dishes that highlight produce from our Hudson Valley farm partners. A focused menu of small plates & finger food will be available, along with an emphasis on cocktails, natural wines, and craft beers in an intimate lounge setting.
Job description The Aviary Kinderhook is looking for passionate, self-motivated, kind & tender individuals to round out our BOH staff. We're a queer, POC-owned restaurant in Kinderhook Village, about 30 minutes south of Albany. We serve farm-forward food in a restored historic knitting mill and textile depot. Our vibrant creative community includes a number of other retail stores onsite, and we also operate a cafe called Morningbird, which serves house-made lunch and pastries Thursday-Sunday. Our restaurant is currently open on Friday and Saturday evenings and we will be expanding with more hours soon.We're offering positions with part-time or full-time flexibility (Wed-Sun) at $18-25/hour DOE. We're a small & tight-knit crew that operates a fun, safe, inclusive workplace with high standards for food, beverage and service. Experience is preferred but not necessary, as we are looking for individuals who will jive with the rest of our awesome crew. Compensation this position is : hourly, varies DOE, $18.00 - $25.00 Application instructions
