Job Title: Farm Manager (Vegetable) 

Location: Alabama 
 
Salary Range: $75,000 - $130,000

QUALIFICATIONS: 

- BS Agronomy or related fields preferred (not required) 
- Prefer 5 years of experience farming organic row crops on a commercial scale 
- 5+ years of experience in management role within a comparable structure or operation   

 - Plant through harvest experience highly preferred 
- Experience managing an extended team is preferred 
- Demonstrated expertise in Crop Production 
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills 
- Excellent interpersonal skills 
- Ability to professionally represent the farm in business and environmental areas 
- Demonstrated understanding of operational planning, and financial and human resource management 
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills 
- Experience with business processes, financial reporting and farm health and safety 

- Knowledge and current experience with precision equipment, GPS, auto-steer & field mapping 

- Experience operating large late model equipment 

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Searching for an experienced Farm Manager. This person will lead farm production operations with primary focus on maximizing quality and revenue through their cropping operations. They will provide consultation and support to additional farming operations. Ability to effectively lead and motivate their team in the direction of the outlined mission. Coordinates with Director of Farm Operations who implements crop management activities, including the preparations for future growth, as outlined in the Farm Business Plan. Communicates with Director of Farm Operations on daily assessments of the farm and its goals. Monitors the effectiveness of implemented crop management strategies to ensure goals are being met. Assists in the recruitment, hiring, and training of farm employees, and effectively manages personnel schedules and conflicts. Communicates with management to ensure infrastructure, equipment, and tools are in good working order as necessary. Maintains regular and effective communication with management on progress, budget, opportunities, and risks. Assist in purchases, supplies, equipment, and contracts for necessary operations, meticulously tracking expenses and managing the annual budget. Engages with contractors on large-scale projects such as buildings and infrastructure.
