Farm Manager Treiber Farms

  • Date Posted September 29, 2022
  • Location Peconic, NY
  • Category Agriculture
  • Job type Full-Time
Company description

Treiber Farms grows a wide variety of fruits and vegetables on about 15 acres on Long Island’s East End. One acre is a no-till market garden, there are three 1/2 acre plots (two are planted, one is in cover crop) and the rest is divided amongst blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, apples, pears, ND peaches. We make our own compost.  Our farming practices reflect our values of simplicity, sustainability and resourcefulness. We do not use synthetic sprays on any of our produce and seek to minimize the use of organic sprays, choosing to work with nature rather than against it. Most of our work is done by hand. It is at this level that we can be most attentive to the needs of the plants. Our produce is sold through a small CSA, farm stand and local wholesale accounts. We also enjoy opportunities to cross-pollinate agriculture and the arts through collaborations and events in the field and at our Old Barn. To date we have worked with: an ice cream company, tea maker, distillers, brewers, film makers, chefs, dye artists, educators, performers, art galleries, musicians, healers and more! Check out our website and instagram @treiberfarms to see what we've been up to.
