Our simple 100% scratch organic menu highlights locally sourced ingredients. We organize our menu each week around availability from local farms. We are located in historic downtown Nevada City on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada's.
Job description
We are looking for a competent baker to bake bread in a fun and dynamic setting. Our bakery uses the highest quality organic ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible. The bakery produces morning pastry, including muffins, scones, brioche, croissant, sticky buns and more. We make all of the bread for the restaurant and retail sale in house, much of it sourdough and some baked in our wood-fired oven, as well as our sourdough pizza dough. We also produce all of the desserts for the restaurant, including cakes, cookies, custards & puddings, pies, tarts and more.
The bread baker is responsible for all mixing, dividing & baking of 3-5 different breads each morning, as well as mixing and shaping our sourdough pizza dough. This is a part-time position, but we will also be looking for a temporary pastry baker while one of our bakers is on maternity leave, so there is the potential for full-time for a few months for a candidate that also has pastry experience.
The candidate must have a strong knowledge of kitchen etiquette, a strong work ethic, willingness to work early morning shifts, experience with production baking and experience in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Compensation this position is : hourly, $20/hr + Application instructions
