We deliver freshly-prepared, local and seasonal whole foods to heal mind, body and spirit. All dishes are crafted with love and infused with principles from Ayurvedic wisdom and Danish hygge. Our menu selections change weekly and seasonally, and are designed to support people at various stages of life. We also offer small-scale catering services for organizations and retreats. 

We are deeply committed to environmental responsibility. We source our ingredients from local farmers as much as possible to limit transportation. While we do include meat in some of our recipes due to its healing benefits, we focus on plant-based foods and keep our carbon footprint down. We offer a subscription-based model of food delivery to control volume and prevent food waste. We deliver food in compostable or reusable packaging. We concentrate our delivery days by geographic location to minimize our ecological impact. Our current delivery area includes Denver, Boulder and the surrounding towns in Colorado.

Job description

We are seeking a reliable and responsible prep chef to join our growing team. Our ideal candidate knows their way around the kitchen, and is comfortable following direction from our lead chef and operations manager. The role will be part-time to start, but has the potential to grow into a full-time position. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Following recipes to prepare meals
  • Supporting lead chef
  • Being available to receive and organize deliveries at the kitchen or picking up ingredients as needed
  • Packaging foods for delivery
  • Washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen area after cooking
  • Reporting any kitchen supply needs to the operations manager
  • Complying with sanitation regulations and safety standards

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Passionate about cooking and infusing positive energy into all prepared foods
  • Shares our ideals of organic, seasonal, local and sustainably sourced ingredients
  • Understanding of Ayurveda is a plus!
  • Great communication skills
  • Experience working in a professional kitchen, ideally with some catering knowledge
  • Organized, efficient and able to follow recipes. Ability to take direction as well as operate independently
  • Care for quality control, and producing the best product possible
  • Must be able to work on feet for up to 8 hours (with breaks) and lift up to 30 lbs
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Positive attitude
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification preferred (or willingness to complete)
 

SCHEDULE & LOCATION

This is a part-time position; hours will vary weekly (approximately 13 to 15 hours/week). Hours may fluctuate or increase as business grows.  Must be available on Mondays 10am-6pm and Tuesdays 8am – 1pm (hours may vary on each day, but will fall within those windows to start).

Kitchen location is in northeast Denver.

COMPENSATION

This position is PAID: hourly, $20-22/hour (depending on experience)
