Fresh Thymes Eatery is a fast-paced fine-casual restaurant in Boulder, Colorado specializing in farm to table, holistic, organic, ingredient conscious food. We craft fine food in a casual environment serving gluten free, paleo friendly and vegan friendly food. Our 100% scratch kitchen creates everything from kale salads, noodle dishes, pizza, tacos and wings to culturing our own kimchi and sriracha, and baking house made desserts, gluten free sourdough bread and culturing our own yogurt.  Fresh Thymes has local beer on tap and curated natural wine. Local award winner for 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 best gluten free restaurant, organic restaurant, vegetarian restaurant. Highest ranking in Good Food 100 and Eat Real.

Job description

The Marketing and Business Development Manager serves as the link between Fresh Thymes and the community. By sharing the Fresh Thymes story with the Boulder (and beyond) community, the Marketing Manager uses the brand image to drive business and sales. Fresh Thymes is different by design, and that message carries through everything we do here. It’s evident in our gluten free and unconventional recipes, sourcing, DIY attitude and our approach to Marketing. The Marketing Manager devises creative, long-term solutions to building customer acquisition, loyalty and retention, and increased sales. They do this by implementing special programs, advertising, collaborating with community institutions, and building relationships with media contacts. 

The role requires an out-of-the-box approach to reaching our niche market of customers--who are health conscious, adhere to special diets, and care about where their food comes from--and the wider Boulder-area population of eaters. By using data and an innate understanding of Fresh Thymes, this position can convey the heart of what we do to the outside world. 

Additional areas of focus: The Fresh Thymes business expanded our reach in 2022 via the opening of our sassy little sister, the Bodega, thus necessitating additional website additions. Creation of a blog, and deeper content creation around Chef Christine’s personal wellness journey and how that affects our philosophy, menu, and commitment to the health of our community.

Deep brand knowledge 

  • You understand that Fresh Thymes is more than just “farm to table.” You truly understand how important local, organic and sustainable sourcing is. And most importantly, you understand how important Fresh Thymes is as a safe, celiac friendly refuge for those who eat gluten free and adhere to special diets. Knowledge of this is key to making connections with our customers. 
  • You “speak” Fresh Thymes through our particular brand voice. We are cheerful, light and quirky and badass, but we’re also super serious about health and wellness and know how to impart wisdom and a call to action without being pretentious.
  • Ideally, you also embrace a healthful lifestyle and are open and excited to learn more about supporting health through food so as to convey authenticity and not just canned branded concept voice and message. 
  • You enjoy writing and crafting stories and want to write the story of Fresh Thymes, our food, our process, our customer testimonials, our employees and our chef and owner, Christine

 Technology

  • You utilize social media through Facebook and Instagram to convey our brand message
  • Maintain and manage our online accounts like the website, Mailchimp, Shopify, Google, Yelp and more. 
  • You use data analytics and google analytics to understand customer behavior and implement sales strategy to follow suit 
  • Spearhead CSR (community supported restaurant) yearly membership, online sales for Thanksgiving.
  • Work to make Fresh Thymes an online presence and connect w/ customers virtuall
  • Create bi-monthly newsletters with important updates, special stories and other timely news
  • Eperience in photography and editing platforms such as Adobe and Canva
  • Blogging knowledge, support and strategy
  • Knowledge of SEO to drive online traffic

Community 

  • The Marketing Manager serves as a liaison between Fresh Thymes and the community. You do this by forming connections with other local businesses and community members, co-heading events and programs, and actively forming relationships with area media and journalists
  • You are the face of Fresh Thymes and visible at events, festivals and other places to interact with our community and promote our message of health via food. 
  • You are excited to further promote our relationships with local farmers, ranchers, small food producers and other small businesses. 
  • You create opportunities for Fresh Thymes to be involved in community events that align with our ethos such as Slow Food, health and wellness festivals, non-profit organizations such as EFAA, Harvest of Hope Pantry, etc. 

Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Management of all social media accounts including content creation and planning a social media calendar. You will delegate all social strategy to our in house social manager.
  • Manage all digital marketing initiatives including web updates, email communications, online event management and management of our CSR (we are a Community community Supported Restaurant) Community of members.
  • Integrate all media, online presence, and digital print to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all channels.
  • Develop and implement an Eatery and Marketplace in-house merchandising strategy.
