Here are the specifics:
 

Providing Customers with Excellent Service

• Being the face and voice of our company’s high standards to each and every one of our customers
• Help fill all customer orders alongside the shop team
• Building relationships with our customers; Learning and understanding customers' needs and concerns, and guiding them to the right meat selection and cooking technique

Providing Customers with Beautiful and Fresh Products

• Ensuring our meat and retail cases remain full and bountiful all day
• Keeping our grocery retail displays looking fresh and beautiful
• Assisting butchers with fulfilling customer orders

Providing Customers with a Beautiful Shop

• Making sure all products are faced and displayed in an appealing fashion, throughout the day
• Ensure good housekeeping and safety standards are maintained at all times

Facility, Compliance, and Safety Duties

• Fill out all logs correctly, as directed
• Assist with bi-weekly and quarterly inventories of meat and retail items
• Ensure good housekeeping and safety standards are maintained at all times, both in the work and storage areas of the shop
• Organization and maintenance of shop items and tools 
• Ensure that shop and equipment supplies are fully stocked and organized at all times 

Technology Responsibilities

• Learn and grow your knowledge of the POS system
• Learn and grow your knowledge of the scales
• Communicate internally with Slack and email, when needed

Position Requirements

• Ability to learn and exhibit excellent meat & product knowledge
• Minimum of 1 years’ relevant work experience – preferably in meat retail operations
• Proactive problem-solving
• Professional and respectful character with both internal and external partners, a kind person
• Availability to work nights and weekends
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written 
• Good computer skills 

Preferred Experience and Character:

• Excellent hospitality skills
• Desire to learn about sustainable agriculture and craft butchery
• 6 months experience in the food, farm or retail industry 
• 6 months experience in a customer service or sales position
• Knowledge of food safety & handling requirements

Please understand that as a food retail business, our busiest times of the year are around the holidays, and therefore vacation time may be limited during these peak periods.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

• Ability to work in a culinary environment and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up and down stairs
