The Store at MX Morningstar Farm is HIRING! We are looking for 2 individuals to join our retail crew. Our farm store is a year-round, bustling retail destination based on our 40 acre organic vegetable farm located 10 minutes outside of Hudson proper in Claverack. We specialize in organic produce and carry a variety of fruits, meat, cheeses, dairy, as well as other local and specialty food products. 

We are a small team that works together to keep the store humming, and you can expect to wear several different hats on any given day. Candidates with experience that are seeking managerial/supervisor roles are encouraged to apply.

...and perhaps most importantly, has a love for food: growing it, cooking it, and eating it! 

Responsibilities include:

-Running the register: bagging customer purchases, taking payments, giving change.

-Helping customers: answering the phone, answering questions on meal & veggie prep.

-Keeping the shelves stocked: displaying produce, facing dry goods, restocking fridge & freezers.

-Prepping produce: trimming, bunching, rehydrating & cleaning to prepare fresh produce for high quality display.

-Receiving deliveries, taking inventory, organizing walk-in and dry storage space.

-Cleaning the store: composting, taking out trash, sweeping, sanitizing, vacuuming, mopping.

Schedule & Compensation:

–Currently looking for Sunday - Thursday availability***

–Shifts: 8am - 4pm or 11:30am - 7:30pm.

–8 hour shifts, 3-5 shifts per week (part/full). 30min paid lunch break daily. 

–$15-$21/hr. Strong preference for individuals with food, farming, and/or retail experience. 

–Overtime after 40hrs/week (1.5x) 

–$35/week in store credit on pre-loaded gift card

–20% discount after store credit

–Access to free farm produce "seconds"

–Access to wholesale ordering

–5 days paid time off after 6 months of employment, with an additional 5 days given for every year worked to a maximum of 20 PTO days per year. 

–NYS sick time accrual @ 1hr per 30hrs worked

–We close for all major holidays

***Open availability/flexibility is strongly encouraged, as with any small team, the schedule is subject to change. We generally set and stick to a schedule, though changes do occur to accommodate time off, vacations, appointments, etc. 

We do not offer housing or transportation at this time. Given our rural location, reliable transportation is required for employment.
