We are seeking a part-time Food Access Coordinator to support and implement Farmshare Austin’s Fresh for Less Food Access Programs, including Mobile Markets and Curbside Delivery. The goal of these programs is to provide fresh, seasonal produce at accessible prices in communities facing socioeconomic and geographic barriers to healthy food access. Fresh for Less serves a diverse population, including a significant portion of Spanish-only speaking customers.

The Food Access Coordinator will be responsible for operating weekly Mobile Markets and/or weekly Curbside delivery routes, including packing and delivering Curbside orders, driving market vehicles, setting up market sites, making and accurately recording sales, and gathering customer and community feedback. The Food Access Coordinator will also be responsible for assisting with updating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, including making recommendations for improvements. The Coordinator will be expected to follow all Farmshare Austin COVID safety protocols (such as limiting customer contact during order delivery and adhering to mask policy) relating to their position. The ideal candidate will be available for some evening and weekend hours as part of their regular schedule and will be enthusiastic about physically demanding work as well as sharing their love of food with the community.

Members of the Food Access team may be required to work a few hours (1-2) weekly on the farm. • Outreach for markets and delivery program including attending school and community events, ordering, picking up and distributing printed materials, posting on social media and other duties as assigned.

  • An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities.

  • Ability to help develop new programs, identify opportunities for improvement and take initiative
