Emergency Food Network is seeking a part-time Seasonal Farm Assistant. This position reports directly to the Co-Farm Managers and serves as a member of the Mother Earth Farm team. This position will assist in the daily tasks of food production and distribution to food pantries.
 

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Passion for working with diverse groups of people and is an advocate for access to nutritious food

• Applicants with at least one year of growing organic vegetables will be given consideration.  Lack of experience will not disqualify you, but knowledge of systems similar to those used at Mother Earth Farm is preferred (i.e.: crop rotation, tractors, cover crop usage, trellising, pruning work, etc.). 

• Ability to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks such as standing or bending for long periods of time
• Deep enjoyment of outside work regardless of weather

• Has the ability to take initiative, while working independently and collaboratively as needed  

• Team oriented with a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly
• Ability to take direction while also potentially leading volunteers and community groups from diverse backgrounds

• Enjoys working in a diverse, fast-paced environment with passionate, talented and committed people
• Exhibits patience, kindness to others, and a sense of humor
