Company description We have a diverse biodynamic/ organic micro Dairy Goat farm. We are located in the beautiful Berkshire mountains of western Massachusetts. We milk 8 Nubian dairy goats, raise sheep and goats for meat, vegetables, flowers, pasture raised chicken and eggs. Our land is graced with fruit trees, raspberries, hazel nuts, currants, flowering trees, shrubs and perennial flower garden. We make our own compost to fill our High Tunnel and supplement the outside gardens. We practice No-till, permaculture land management. We sell our products from the farm and at farmer markets.

Projects include milking goats, feeding baby goats, animal husbandry, making cheese, bottle raw milk, moving chickens, feeding and watering laying chickens, collecting eggs, weeding, planting, transplanting, seeding ,watering, mulching, cleaning barns, assist with moving animals in pasture. 

 We believe that small diverse farms are an important part of our food economy. Less stress on the environment and being able to supply our community with high quality safe food.  Internship description We are seeking an enthusiastic individual that has a strong interest to learn all aspects of a small diverse farm.  Concentration with the Dairy Goats but willing to work with the other parts of the farm where the help is needed. Physically capable to lift 50 lbs. and work at least 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. We treat our animals like family. The wellbeing of each animal is very important us.  The work is very diverse. You will not get stuck in a production type of farm.  Looking for someone that wants to build a partnership with us on the farm. We would like to have someone help us with implementing new ideas yet can listen and take direction. We are open minded to any skills that you bring to the farm provided that they work for greater good of the farms mission. 

Some of the work will entail the following but we can work with you to make any necessary changes.

Milk goats 2 times per day. Clean up, bottle raw milk, make cheese, 
Feed and care for kid goats
Assist with kidding and lambing
Set up barns for lambing and kidding
Hoof trimming, health inspection
Spring -move animals to pasture.  
Set up for rotational grazing
Load animals on to trailer
Move animals every 5-7 days
Set up brooder for chicks, care for chicks.
Move chickens 2x a day.
Care for laying chickens, collect eggs, wash and box
Help with harvest, wash and pack for farmer market
Clean barns
Weed, watering, transplanting and planting. Compensation this position is : salaried, $15-20/hr
