Welcome to the Wilderness! We're stuck here so we might as well have some fun!! We are a small team, but dedicated and passionate about providing the best service possible in Catskills against the Lodge's amazing backdrop in the Big Indian Wilderness. Get a hike in before your dinner shift, get out onto the river after working breakfast or just see the stars at the fire pit--that's the Lodge!
Our 28 room boutique Lodge is located minutes from all slopes, trails and rivers of the Catskills Park in SE New York. We are nestled on 68 acres and are also only 2.5 hours from NYC. There are options for the best nature and city around!
Job description About Urban Cowboy
We are the best of both worlds: endless hiking, camping or fishing in the beautiful Catskill Mountains and roughly 2 hours from NYC. Work with a passionate team doing inspiring things against the backdrop of the Urban Cowboy Lodge. Housing & Benefits are available. Options for both Management & Hourly Positions; Hospitality experience appreciated, but not necessary!
Each of us wears many hats day to day and you would be encouraged to do the same. That doesn't mean that you are working the Front desk one day and building a stone pathway the next, but it doesn't hurt if you would be willing... If you're a person of many talents or applicable hobbies maybe you are leading a tour, hosting an event, or creating unique programming for guests or locals alike.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys and excels at hospitality or may not even know it yet. We have a hotel, a busy restaurant, and regular events going at full steam 24/7 so there is a place here for everyone.
dWe maintain multiple housing options for employees. A minimum of 32 hours per week of work is required to secure housing and benefits. Dependent on the commitment of the staff member we can make other arrangements as well!

There are discounts on Food, Drinks, and Rooms. You can stay the night and we want your friends and family too!
It is best to have transportation. There's a lot out there in the Catskills to do and you will need a car to get around to it all. Yes, we are in the center of it, but very much tucked away here so just getting out to the main road is a 5-10 minute drive, and to get groceries is another 20.
You can do it all. Really. There's so much here to do. Hiking, Camping, Climb, Fish or just sit still in and look at the stars. If it is outside it is here in the Catskills. You can do the middle of nowhere thing or jump into a really wonderful community of NYC transplants and dynamic locals. If all else fails to get your attention one weekend head to New York City--that's pretty self explanatory.

Urban Cowboy Lodge, located in Big Indian, NY one of the top Lodges of the Catskills is currently seeking experienced service staff to join our existing team. We are a small team of wonderful, hard-working people so personality and positive disposition are preferable.
The right person for this job can multitask, takes pride in serving superior cocktails, cares about presentation, and is focused on hospitality. The hours for this position are generally 30-40 hours per week with weekend availability a must.
The responsibilities will consist of set up and breakdown of service period, executing service in assigned areas, caring for the guest experience. Also you must be able to carry at least 25 lbs, stand for 8-10 hours, use repetitive motions for long periods of time, and travel stairs etc, etc. you know the deal!
