About the Farm

Red Apple Farm is a 111-year old, fourth-generation, family farm located in Phillipston, MA. We offer an authentic, New England, family farm experience to our visitors and customers.  After experiencing sustained growth, we now own or manage two year-round and one seasonal key business ventures:

  • Brew Barn & Cidery in collaboration with Moon Hill Company 
• Bullock Lodge & The Core (Princeton, MA) - The seasonal locations at Wachusetts Mountain Ski Area offering warm treats, fudge, and cider mountain side. 
• Red Apple Farm Market (Boston, MA) - The retail shop and cider bar at Boston Public Market operates seven days a week, serving the farm’s hard cider, sweet cider drinks, hot cider donuts, and assorted farm treats.

The Boston Production Manager will lead the Boston production team in producing our award winning apple cider donuts for bulk sales, catering orders and retail sales. Additionally, this team will also produce other selected treats for retail sale in the RAF stall at Boston Public Market. The position will be best suited for someone who loves to bake, loves working in a kitchen, and enjoys making the same yummy products over and over. This person is someone who can master producing consistent high quality products, build a collaborative team that loves what they do, and create a memorable experience for customers. This is a full-time position that reports to the Boston Operations Manager. 
 

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the day to day operations of the production team, including managing the team and team schedule, production paperwork, food safety and compliance of production processes. 
• Supervise the production team, providing coaching for production processes including safety protocols for equipment use and navigating the production space.
• Participate in the onboarding process of new production staff, including interviews and training, and evaluation. 
• Oversee recipe and SOP development for each produced product. 
• Directly produce, with the support of the production team, all products for bulk and catering orders and retail sales. 
• Continuous collaboration with the Farm Production Manager on product development and quality control.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager on bulk orders, packaging, inventory and distribution. 
• Work with Operations Manager to ensure all equipment is properly maintained.
• Comfortable producing the same assortment of products for bulk and retail sales. 
• Able to work occasional weekends. 
• Flexibility to visit the farm in Phillipston, MA. 

Qualifications

• Fully COVID-19 Vaccinated (required by Boston Public Market)
• 3+ years of professional experience in food manufacturing or food production setting
• 2+ years of management experience in a food production preferred
• Experience baking, recipe development, and scaling for bulk production
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to work independently, in a fast paced environment, and detail oriented
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack, Lightspeed, WhenIWork

Compensation & Benefits

Full-Time Position

Salary Range $60,000-$75,000 commensurate to experience
