Agricultural methods such as grass-fed, rotational grazing keep the land and livestock (cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, poultry and rabbits) happy and healthy. The farm's Farm Stay and agritourism events such as farm tours and workshops and participation in farmers markets educate the public about good farming and food.

Job description

Join us for the 2024 season. May to November. Experience all facets of the agricultural business, including production, management, marketing and value-added food processing.  Work with cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry and rabbits using agricultural methods such as grass-fed, non-certified organic, rotational grazing and sustainable farming. Interface with customers and the community through farmers markets, farm tours, on-farm programs and farm stay. Duties include daily feeding and watering of livestock, livestock guardian dogs and border collies.  Egg collection, washing and packing. Participation in farmers market on Saturdays and Sundays in Metro NYC area. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in weather conditions. Assistance with farm tours and workshops. No experience necessary. Will train. Desired skills include enthusiasm, creative thinking and problem solving, strong attention to detail, carpentry, veterinary, culinary, comfort with big and small animals, excellent social interaction and communication.

The hourly rate is $15 to $18 plus private house, utilities and wifi
