Farmers Market Sales Associate (Sundays Only)
Pay: $20/hour + commission opportunity
Location: Porter Ranch Farmer’s Market
Schedule: Sundays only — must be available for setup, market hours, and cleanup
We are looking for a positive, reliable, and energetic person to represent our sauce brand at the Porter Ranch Farmer's Market on Sundays. This is a customer-facing role for someone who enjoys talking to people, offering samples, and creating a fun and welcoming experience while driving strong sales. This position requires independently managing the booth during market hours. You will be the primary representative of the brand, responsible for engaging customers, offering samples, processing sales, and maintaining a professional and welcoming booth experience throughout the day. Owner will deliver all booth equipment and inventory to the market. Employee will be responsible for setup, sales, and breakdown of the booth. All equipment is to be packed and staged for owner pickup at the end of the market.
Set up starts at 7:30am. Market hours: 9am - 2pm. Clean up finishes around 3pm.
Responsibilities:
- Arrive approximately 1.5 hours before market opening to set up booth, tent, tables, banners, and displays
- Owner will deliver all booth equipment and products to the market
- Prepare and offer samples to customers throughout the market
- Engage with customers and confidently sell products
- Operate POS/payment system and accurately handle cash and card transactions
- Keep booth clean, organized, and fully stocked during market hours
- Break down and clean up booth after the market closes
- Collect data on customer preferences and feedback to inform marketing strategies and vendor improvements
- Take videos/pictures of booth/market to send to owner for posting on social media account
Qualifications:
- Friendly, outgoing, and customer-oriented personality
- Positive attitude with strong communication skills
- Trustworthy, dependable, and punctual
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Comfortable handling money and using a POS system
- Able to lift and move tables, bins, and market supplies
- Can consistently attend every Sunday market and arrive on time
- Ability to work independently and professionally represent the brand
- Flexibility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions on Sundays
Compensation:
- $20/hour
- Performance-based commission opportunity available for strong sales results. Details will be discussed during the interview.
Ideal Candidate:
We're looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, and enjoys interacting with people. The right person is positive, hardworking, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while providing excellent customer service.
Previous experience in retail, sales, food service, hospitality, events, farmers markets, or as a brand ambassador is helpful but not required. We're happy to train the right person who has a great attitude, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for representing our brand.
Compensation
