Job Description The Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) is a non-profit membership organization that works to help people in North and South Carolina grow and eat local organic food. Based in Pittsboro, NC. CFSA is the oldest and largest sustainable agriculture organization in the Southeast, and has a thirty-two-year record of successfully uniting farmers, consumers and businesses to build a just, healthy food and farming future. 

The Director of Development is a full-time salaried position to manage CFSA’s Development Program, including all individual and corporate fundraising activities, to meet strategic goals. The Director of Development will work out of the Pittsboro, NC office, and will be required to travel throughout the Carolinas.

JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Development will work with the Board and Executive Director to develop strategic direction for fundraising and implement an annual Development Plan.  This position will manage the annual fund and major donor programs; coordinate all individual and corporate cultivation and solicitation activities, including sponsorships and exhibitors for CFSA’s annual Sustainable Agriculture Conference; ensure good database management and fundraising protocols; and train and coordinate the staff and board in their roles.
