Position Summary:
Jasper Hill’s microbiologist is a problem solver that works with our dairy farmers, cheesemakers, and affineurs to maximize the potential quality of our cheese. The right candidate will have a strong background in dairy science, the ability to develop and follow lab protocols and experience in DNA extraction and amplification.
This position is responsible for:
- Ongoing surveillance of milk quality
- Media preparation
- Isolation and identification of beneficial microbes
- Management of our existing culture bank
- Production of starter culture
- Data management
This role is ideal for a person with a background in biotechnology, applied biology or molecular biology who is independently motivated. The microbiologist works with all parts of the Jasper Hill Family of Businesses. A positive working relationship with our farmers, cheesemakers, owners, and affineurs at Jasper Hill is essential to the success of this role.
Skill Requirements:
- Previous experience in molecular biology

Compensation is negotiable, depending upon relevant experience
