Position Purpose:

Our vision for the Development Department is to create a well-funded Foodbank for today and tomorrow; to be an integral voice in the work of the Foodbank; to be engaging, inspiring and responsive to current and potential stakeholders; and to support each other to build confidence, take risks and encourage learning and innovation. By working across departments, the Digital Engagement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the communications, marketing and online fundraising efforts of the Vermont Foodbank. The Digital Engagement Coordinator will assist the Director of Communications and Public Affairs in bridging marketing, sales, service, and technology to create a frictionless path between constituents and the Foodbank.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising Support

  • Work with development team to identify and support corporate sponsorship opportunities with digital vehicles;
  • Work with development team to drive traffic and donor acquisition through digital presence;
  • Work with Donor Services Manager and direct mail vendor to maximize e-donor solicitation;
  • Help develop and execute a digital fundraising calendar, in coordination with Donor Services Manager and Director of Communications.

Website                        

  • Regularly update content on the Foodbank’s website;
  • Provide website maintenance and troubleshooting using WordPress CMS platform;
  • Develop and maintain a blogging strategy and editorial calendar.

Digital Engagement

  • Manage comprehensive social strategy, including metrics for engagement;
  • Develop strategies to encourage conversations and participation in the digital space;
  • Regularly monitor and participate in relevant conversations online;
  • Offer insights around ROI, goals and broader organizational participation;
  • Work with Director of Communications and Public Affairs to create and publish content for social channels;
  • Lead the organization in communication that is flexible, agile and responsive.

SEO/SEM/Analytics

  • Optimize and maintain web marketing strategy, internet marketing, advertising and landing page optimization;
  • Create and support a culture of testing for optimization;
  • Create effective tracking systems of online vehicles over time, and regularly report results to Director of Communications and Public Affairs.

Communications and Marketing

  • Assist Director of Communications and Public Affairs with the creation and production of marketing materials;
  • Track all media impressions via traditional and social media;
  • Assist in drafting press releases and media advisories when necessary.

Basic Functions and Responsibilities of All Foodbank Employees

  • Work cooperatively and be able to communicate with staff and volunteers to support the Foodbank’s mission and meet and sustain organizational goals;
  • Positively contribute to an organizational culture of safe and secure food handling, warehousing and distribution;
  • The Foodbank relies on volunteers every day to fulfill our mission. All Foodbank employees must support our culture of philanthropy by treating every volunteer with appreciation and respect.
