  • Job type Full-Time
Company description Tracie's Community Farm is a 10 acre diversified vegetable farm in the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire.  We run a 3 season CSA with about 60 Spring members, 350+ Summer members and 130 Fall members.  We do a small amount of wholesale to local restaurants, have a busy spring farm stand where we sell flower and veggie plant starts, and have a small self-serve farm store.  Tracie's Farm has been established for almost 20 years and is well-known in the region.  We are proud to be committed to being completely spray-free. Job description We are looking for two different positions at Tracie's Farm this season.  First is full-time crew members. Full-time work is available late April/early May through the end of October with part-time hours available on either end. Crew is responsible for all aspects of the farm from greenhouse work, to planting, hoeing, weeding, harvesting, and packing CSA baskets!  Our farm has a crew of 6 full-timers including Managers Sarah and Kristen Wilson.  There are 3 part-time workers on harvest days, as well as Work Shares- these are members who work in exchange for their shares.  We are a close-knit group who like to work hard, learn, laugh, and have great conversations in the fields.

Working at Tracie's Farm is a great opportunity to learn a wide variety of skills and responsibilities on a farm and your work will be diversified.  We love to teach and are excited to work with people who have a great work ethic, love to learn, are responsible and quick learners.

Besides an hourly wage, crew members receive a full share of veggies, one paid day off during the season, and lunch is provided Monday through Friday.  The crew takes turns cooking lunch in our outdoor kitchen. Our hours are generally Monday through Friday, 7am to 430pm with a paid coffee break and an unpaid 45 minute lunch. We currently do not have housing available unless you want to live in a tent or a very rustic barn loft.

We are a fairly rural town but only 30 minutes to Keene, NH,  and 45 minutes to Brattleboro, VT or Northampton, MA.  There are loads of hikes, bike trails, ponds, rivers, and lakes to explore in our area.  Our farm hosts 2 or 3 community potlucks a season where we utilize our wood fired pizza oven and bonfire space!  Come join our community!

Our second opportunity is very unique.  The current Farm Managers will be moving on after the 2017 season comes to close. We are hoping to hire one person this season to train with the current managers in order to take over management of the farm for 2018.  This will be a co-manager position with a returning crew member. Managers will be responsible for all aspects of the
farm including marketing, advertising, record keeping, membership, finances, crop planning, seed ordering, planting, maintenance, harvest, CSA management, and crew hiring.  2 or more years of farming experience are desired.

It is a unique opportunity and arrangement with the owner.  Email for more information and details. Compensation this position is : hourly Application instructions
