  • Job type Full-Time
Company description

Atlanta Personal Chef Service is cooking up fresh, delicious, dinners in homes across Atlanta, bringing busy families back to the family dinner table. It’s no secret that today’s families have far more demands on their time than previous generations. And in the rush to juggle many responsibilities, one of the first things that gets sacrificed is healthy and relaxing family dinners. We can change that.

We take care of dinner during the week—from meal planning, to shopping, cooking, and cleaning. So when you come home at the end of a demanding day, you can relax to wholesome, home-cooked meals. Clients tell us that it’s not only the delicious meals, but also the time we return to their lives that they value most.

We also help bring friends and families together for one-time special celebrations--both large and small.  From romantic dinners for two, to large scale buffet dinners and cocktail parties, we bring our care and passion for connecting people to homes all over Atlanta and the surrounding areas.

Job description We are professional culinarians in the home kitchen -- whether preparing meals on a regular basis or an extravagant event for just one evening.

The team at Atlanta Personal Chef Service has the highest brand reputation to uphold in Atlanta, and we've earned it. Do you have a passion for food, a deep commitment to improving yourself, a team mindset, and a hunger to learn all things about food? Are you creative, yet organized and disciplined? Do you value your own mental and physical health, and want to help others improve in those areas as well? Did you earn your culinary degree, and then spend years in restaurant kitchens never seeing daylight because you were working in a fast-paced, busy modern restaurant? If so, you sound like a natural fit to join our growing team.

On our team you will:
· Learn to master the execution and plating of the finest world cuisines, as well as have fun with food making pink pancakes and other kid-friendly foods
· Listen, listen, and listen more to what your client's needs are, and then deliver
· Develop interesting, down-to-earth menus for your client's each week
· Help families celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and more. Not a people person? This may not be the best fit for you.
· Utilize technology and phone apps to make work more efficient, easier, and collaborative
· Know the grocery stores around Atlanta inside and out -- you'll be saying "hi" to your friendly cashiers every day
· Sharpen your culinary skills (and your knives!) with a talented team who have paved the way before you, and will continue to lead and inspire you as you develop
· Communicate about food via email, phone, and in-person in a professional, helpful manner
· Plan and execute different types of events, and afterwards, look back and be proud of what you've accomplished

Let's talk desired qualifications:
· You'll be the paid professional -- so a culinary certificate or degree is a must
· You'll be working solo at least 50% of the time, so preferably you'll have at least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced, upscale, modern restaurant
· You'll be planning menus for your clients each week -- so you must know how to write menus and communicate via email
· You'll be driving all around town -- so you must have a reliable car, patience in traffic, and a good play-list to keep your sanity
· You'll be working mainly Monday - Friday, but you'll be working evenings and weekends too, especially during our busy season
· You'll be in some of the finest homes in Atlanta -- so no smoking, potty mouths, or offensive tattoos
· You'll also be around kids and in client's homes, so you must be able to pass a comprehensive background check

The right person for this position will have the flexibility to start as an hourly employee as they learn the art and craft of our trade. You can expect to make between $14 - $17 per hour, plus generous tips, often $50 or more per event. As you build your set of dedicated clients, salaried positions are available which offer paid time off, bonuses, short & long term disability insurance, life insurance, client gifts and tips, team get-togethers, and more!
