Christopher Kimball's Milk Street, a multi-platform food media company, is seeking an experienced recipe editor to work in its downtown Boston office.

 The recipe editor provides quality control on all recipes. The editor acts as a liaison between the company’s editorial and culinary teams to ensure recipes are accurately and clearly written, and are consistent with the Milk Street mission and philosophy.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Test and edit recipes as they are submitted by developers, ensuring they meet Milk Street guidelines and conform to company recipe style
  • Work with the food editor and editorial director to guide recipes through the development, testing, editing and photographing processes
  • Oversee testing of all recipes by the Milk Street test kitchen, as well as a team of outside home recipe testers
  • Coordinate with recipe developers and test kitchen staff—and consulting with food editor and editorial director—to troubleshoot recipes
  • Consult with editorial teams—including print, television, radio, web, social media and culinary education—to help shape and write multi-format stories

 

Qualifications:

This full-time, onsite position requires:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a commercial or editorial test kitchen
  • Culinary degree or equivalent culinary experience
  • At least five years’ experience in an editorial environment, with responsibilities that included both writing and editing
  • Experience working across media formats and with both remote and in-house staff
  • Proficient with Internet research as well as common Mac software, including Office
