Company description Woodbelly Pizza is a worker-owned, farm-to-plate catering cooperative started as an outlet for CSA produce from a small farm in Northern VT.  We've grown a lot in the 9 years since and now cater weddings, parties and events around the state, as well as vending at festivals and local farmer's markets. We take pride in our ingredients, sourcing freshly milled heirloom organic wheat from VT and Quebec, organic vegetables from our farm and others, and organic and pasture raised beef, chicken, pork and goose from Northern VT. We are continuing to develop our pizza operations alongside a growing focus on a range of other catering options, fermentation projects and more! Working with us is a commitment to moving quickly and working hard, and it is also a chance to travel around Vermont and eat  really delicious food. We are looking for experienced cooks as well as folks that want to build our team, drive big trucks with trailers, and reach for the next level. Those that are interested in pursuing member-ownership are preferred. Job description We are working to create a sustainable world, for those eating and working in it! Our commitment to worker-ownership is a commitment to finding a business model that works, fairly sharing the profit and developing a culture worth working for. Non-owners can expect to earn $12-$15/hr with tips. We are exploring the possibility of health benefits for owners alongside the existing benefits package. All workers have access to substantial food leftovers. 

Day-to-day tasks and decisions are coordinated by owners and event leads. All workers are encouraged to ask for advice and take action when they see something that needs doing. As a co-operative we make big decisions by consensus.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in basic prep tasks and be interested wood-fired cooking both in an oven and over coals. Tasks will include:
  • pizza assembly and baking at 800+ F
  • passed and stationary appetizer prep
  • customer service at catering events, festivals and retail
  • operating wood-fired ovens
  • clean up
Work may also be available for qualified candidates helping with office tasks, mechanical maintenance on our fleet of diesel trucks and heavy duty trailers and other support activities.

We are looking for people who are interested in pursuing the ownership track and take on leadership roles,  preferably with culinary experience and/or experience driving diesel trucks with trailers. We may be able to help the right applicant find housing. Compensation this position is : hourly, varies DOE, $12.00 - $17.00 Application instructions
