Kitchen Manager

We believe in hiring great people who will thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented setting. We are looking for someone who loves food and working as part of a small team. Applicants should appreciate organization, structure, be good problem solvers, be comfortable asking questions, and be able to manage others. 

You will work in our commercial kitchen, have creative input on menu design, and share management of our kitchen staff. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing back-of-house operations during catered events. You will work closely with the head chef/owner to manage day-to-day kitchen operations and catered events. Furthermore, you will also work closely with the entire management team on other business operations and decisions. 

We strive to balance fun and cooperation with efficiency.  We expect to work hard and hold ourselves to high standards while working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. You will not be expected to know everything or be an expert; our kitchen culture is fertile soil for personal and professional growth. You will be expected to ask questions if you do not know how to do something or are unclear. We eat staff lunch together daily. You will be expected to attend regular check-ins with management team in which feedback will be given and received. We believe in the importance of a work-life balance and the value of a cohesive, supportive community.


Weekly Schedule

Monday: Kitchen Shift (8am-5pm)
Thursday: Kitchen Shift (8am-5pm)
Friday: Kitchen Shift (8am-5pm)
Saturday and/or Sunday: Event (6-10 hours, time and location vary) 


Time Frame

We are a seasonal business that operates from the beginning of May through November. This job will run from the end of April until the middle of November.


Required

  • Current and valid driver license
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Minimum 1 year of culinary experience 
  • Schedule flexibility and availability to work 35+ hrs/wk 


Desired 

  • Experience preparing food in compliance with ServSafe regulations
  • Experience managing a team of people
  • Experience driving (and backing up) a trailer
  • 3+ years of culinary experience preferred
