Company description North Spore Mushroom Company, based in Portland, Maine, is expanding and has several new positions available. North Spore was founded in 2014 by three friends and graduates of The College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine. They cultivate a variety of mushroom species, including Oyster Mushrooms, Shiitake, Lions Mane, and Chestnut Mushrooms. North Spore also produces mushroom spawn for home growers, small farms, and other mushroom producers, participates in a multitude of local farmer's markets, and works directly with Portland area restaurants and specialty shops. Job description North Spore Mushroom Company is seeking a qualified team-centered production manager with farm management experience. This is a key role for our mushroom farm and requires strong leadership skills, the ability to organize and maintain a facility with many mechanical parts, communication skills for managing employees, and a love and passion for urban farming, mushroom cultivation, or food production.

The production manager is also expected to take a hands on approach to the often repetitive tasks associated with fresh mushroom production and will work along side the production assistant to ensure weekly production goals are met.
