Purpose of the Position:
The Culinary Manager will supervise all kitchen and delivery staff, as well as kitchen department managers/coordinators (approximately 20 people). This person will be responsible for overseeing kitchen and delivery procedures and quality control.
Some Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Strong knowledge of back of the house operations including foods, beverages, staff supervision, inventory, and food safety.
- Ensure outgoing catering orders are complete, and delivered on time
- Maintain quality control for our established menu
- Maintain sanitation procedures and organization of work area as well as delivery safety
- Is always aware of staffing levels and looks for every opportunity to train, develop and coach team members.
- Participate in hiring and training new staff, as well as ongoing coaching and motivating existing staff
- Responsible for staff reviews at end of new hire period and annually going forward
- Treat team members with respect and regularly recognize and reward employees.
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness, maintenance and excellent service. Maintain all Board of Health standards
- Responsible for scheduling and ensuring all shifts are covered
- Complete all administrative and payroll requirements and reports in a timely manner.
- Oversee and manage Operations Coordinator in their job of Inventory/Ordering/Receiving products, supplies and equipment. Source sustainable and local products whenever possible. Develop effective inventory/ordering systems to streamline process and avoid overages or missing products.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years commercial food experience
- 2-4 years supervisory experience
- Strong work ethic. Have fun and love what you do.
- Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail; prioritize tasks and meet time lines
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Able to cook from recipes and oversee quality control
- Must be able to stand for 4-6 hours at a time and lift up to 25 lbs
- Proficient in MS Office and database software
- High School Diploma required, College Degree preferred
- Valid Driver’s License, with a clean driving record
Hours: Full Time Monday-Friday approx. 5 AM-3 PM, may require some evening/weekend coverage and ability to be on call as needed
