Job description

Growing restaurant group is looking for General Manager to operate 150 seat fast-casual restaurant. Oversees all day-to-day operations including food and service quality, organization, cleanliness, and restaurant expenses in relation to sales. Maintains restaurant group culture and upholds all other employees to company standards.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Track the ongoing performance of each employee. Collaborate with department managers to provide employees with clear communication regarding performance expectations, plans for improvement and steps toward attaining promotions.

  • Coordinate the orientation and introductory training of new employees (facilities tour, policies, and procedures, introduction to management team, Food and Culture training).

  • Maintain inventory of FOH including paper products, to-go supplies, glassware, plateware, silverware, and all office supplies

  • Manage repairs and maintenance of facility and appliances, DIY when possible

  • Act as a partner to Kitchen Management and FOH Management, helping with any issues relating to FOH and BOH relations

  • Be available as go-to person for both FOH and BOH staff regarding supply needs, job logistics, efficiency, and any other issues big or small

  • Be available for any local supply runs, i.e. anything we dont have delivered or something runs out

  • Constant surveillance and management of Cost of Goods and Cost of Labor

  • Ensure proper sourcing of goods with routine adjustments to make sure we are always getting high quality products at the lowest cost

  • Support FOH and BOH Managers with hiring and training of new employees

  • Lead FOH and BOH Management in keeping up with health code standards and preparing for health inspections

  • Maintain highest standard of quality for both food and service

  • Create/implement metrics to measure employee engagement and happiness, and act on the results to continuously improve work environment (creating and running projects such as the brag board, etc.)


Communication:

  • Be available to all FOH staff members on a daily basis to help identify and correct problems, boost morale, and set tone for service.
  • Maintain consistent dialogue with management team concerning issues regarding staff or facilities.
  • Lead weekly meetings with the entire management team 
  • Lead monthly staff meetings
