Farm & Wilderness Foundation (F&W) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit, educational organization operating six summer camps for children and young adults, a family camp, and off season retreat and rentals. Set on a beautiful 500-acre campus in the Green Mountains of Vermont, F&W programs are rich in adventure, community, history, and spirit and foster an individual relationship with the natural world. Job description At Farm & Wilderness summer camps, we focus on community, farm to table, and living closely with the natural world. We offer five overnight camps for children ages nine through seventeen, a day camp and a family camp. Three generations of campers have learned a lifelong love of nature and the joy of a simple, participatory life here in the Vermont woods. We invite you to join us!

We are currently looking for a Head Cook to work June 10- August 17.

Position Summary: 

Primary tasks include working with the Director & Assistant Director to:

  • Provide for the health and safety of campers and staff
  • Plan a varied and healthy menu, including vegetarian alternatives
  • Supervise staff and campers in the kitchen
  • Oversee and prepare nutritionally complete meals for each day that campers are in camp
  • Ensure all safety procedures pertaining to the kitchen, including ACA regulations and standards are followed
  • Educate staff about all safety procedures and health standards
  • Use food from the garden whenever feasible and practical
