Empress Green Inc is an Urban Farm business based in Staten Island, NY. We manage our flagship farm site at the new Urby development. We grow seasonal vegetables including specialty salad greens and tomatoes. We also manage a rooftop Apiary on site. We are seeking to expand our team and welcome seasonal farm associates to help us in fulfilling our mission of creating and maintaining productive edible green spaces in our cities.

Empress Green Inc is seeking team members who meet the following protocol:

• At least 1 year farming or gardening experience preferred
• Seek to learn and respond positively to feedback
• Take ownership over each task and demonstrate responsibility
• Share a commitment to teamwork at all times
• Maintain cleanliness and presentable appearance of the farm site
• Show organization and the ability to prioritize daily tasks
• Have strong problem-solving skills
• Have strong communications skills in both verbal and written forms of English
• Can bend down to lift objects, climb step-ladders and stairs
• Can lift loads of up to 75 pounds, and regularly lift and carry loads of up to 50 pounds.
• Have the ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds
• Have the ability to work through hot and cold temperatures and inclement weather
• Have a strong knowledge of food products, seasonality and cooking techniques (preferred)

COMPENSATION   

• This position is PAID: $13/hr with opportunity for growth.
• Seasonal, Casual/Part time 15-25 hours a week
