Rosemont began as one cozy store on Brighton Avenue. In the early days, we were five people. Today we employ more than 85 people. We have a 24/7 bakery and kitchen, five markets in neighborhoods in Portland and Yarmouth, and a warehouse which distributes to our markets and wholesales to restaurants. We also have a delivery service to the islands of Casco Bay and an events-planning wing. We are committed to growing intelligently while retaining the feel of those smaller, simpler days. We think we’re doing pretty well with that. Job Description Rosemont Bakery produces hand-made, hand-shaped traditional breads of a wide variety. Baguettes, boules, batards, free form, both yeasted and leaven cultured. We also produce a full line of laminated dough pastries
We need a team player to help fill out our staff. Previous professional baking is helpful but if you have solid kitchen skills and want to learn the craft then that works too.
Our new space on Anderson Street is coming along nicely with a french oven and bigger kitchen so we can start to expand our reach and get creative. It's a hard working atmosphere where you have to be able to lift 50 pounds but we try to keep it light and enjoyable. The baking shift starts at 2am. Plenty of coffee is provided.
Some job requirements include:
At least one year experience in food service
Ability to lift 50 pound cartons or bags
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Some weekend availability
Strong communication skills
A positive attitude & an interest in people and food
