Goodnow Farms Chocolate is a small batch, bean-to-bar chocolate company that makes high quality, fine flavor, single origin chocolate. 

We are firmly committed to ensuring that the cacao we source is ethically grown, that farmers receive fair compensation, and that farming methods used are sustainable. We work directly with our farmers and producers and have invested in some communities to improve product quality, production and develop mutually beneficial relationships.

We use only fine flavor beans for our chocolate- at our farm in Sudbury we carefully roast, stone grind, and conche small batches of these beans to bring out their hidden flavors. We even use them to press our own cocoa butter! The result is a smooth chocolate that stays true to the unique flavors found in each different type of cacao.

Responsibilities:

We make great tasting chocolate, and we have fun doing it. We work hard, individually and as a team and wear a variety of hats. We are looking to bring somebody on board to assist in the day-to-day production of craft chocolate. The position is part time now, but may increase as time goes on. Depending on experience and our growing needs, daily tasks may include: production prep work, production assistance (bean sorting, roasting, winnowing, pressing, refining & conching, tempering & molding, wrapping and packaging, cleaning), order fulfillment, and various other tasks associated with making chocolate, including lots of taste testing.
 

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who:

-Is interested in food and enjoys chocolate

-Can work at least three 8hr days/week (pref. M-F)

-Is self-motivated, responsible and dependable

-Is comfortable working in a team environment, but also independently

-Has a good sense of humor and a strong work ethic

-Is proactive, organized and pays attention to detail

-Is flexible and communicates clearly, orally and in writing (fluent in English)

-Is in good physical health (may need to lift up to 50lb) and maintains good hygiene

-Is dexterous/ good with his/her hands

-Is interested in the ensuring the high quality of our product

-Is interested in holistic and sustainable farming, ethical sourcing and production

-Wants to learn new things and can help us grow
